Sapporo Teine

Ski Resort Features

Officially certified ski school located at the closest and most scenic resort near Sapporo.

Teine Ski Resort is the largest resort closest to Sapporo—only about a 40-minute drive away. With convenient access, it’s a top choice for both locals and travelers. The resort is divided into two main areas: the “Olympia Area” and the “Highland Area.” Featuring diverse trails and panoramic views overlooking Ishikari Bay and the Sapporo cityscape, Teine is one of the few resorts in Hokkaido where you can enjoy both ocean and city night views.

The Olympia Area offers gentle terrain with beginner-friendly magic carpets, ideal for first-timers and families. The Highland Area, at a higher altitude with premium snow quality, features longer red and black runs as well as natural tree runs for intermediate to advanced skiers. Teine Ski Resort also hosted the alpine skiing events of the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics, making it a historic and versatile destination for skiers of all levels.

Olympia Area Ski Center
Both the Olympia and Highland areas of Teine Ski Resort feature official rental centers offering a full range of equipment, including skis, boots, ski wear, protective gear, and helmets.

Approximately a 40-minute drive from downtown Sapporo.

By JR train, get off at “Teine Station,” then take a bus for about 20 minutes to “Teine Olympia” or “Teine Highland.”
