Niseko Must-Visit: Tofu Shop Using Yotei Spring Water
Highly recommended: Their amazing tofu! Smooth texture and rich soybean flavor!
The biggest surprise is you can freely take Mount Yotei spring water & enjoy free tastings 😋
Take some spring water home to brew tea, make coffee, or cook miso soup 🍵
If you’re coming to Niseko for skiing or sightseeing, you have to try it yourself!

Do you love tofu? At the foot of Mount Yotei in Makkari Village, there’s a popular tofu shop called “Wakimizu-no-Sato“.
This little shop offers dozens of types of tofu. I was already full just from sampling them all! They even serve hot, fresh soy milk for free—something I’ve never seen in Hong Kong, Taiwan, or China!
I especially recommend their “Sugoi Tofu” because it’s made with Tsuruko soybeans from Hokkaido, which makes it super smooth and gives it an unforgettable, rich soy flavor.
Actually, there are many places in Hokkaido with natural underground spring water. The rainwater collected from the streams around Mount Yotei is purified and filtered by nature, making it rich in minerals and famous locally. Many residents bring big buckets to collect spring water for free, taking it home to brew tea, make coffee, or cook miso soup.
They say using this spring water to brew tea brings out more aroma and flavor, and cooking soup with it helps draw out the nutrients, making it more easily absorbed by the body. Drinking this spring water can even hydrate your skin—there are so many benefits!
I tasted the pure, sweet spring water right there and even filled a few bottles to bring home. If you’re visiting Niseko for skiing or travel, you definitely need to experience it for yourself!
