Niseko Local Potato Broth Ramen: Must-Try Comfort Food
This time I tried Niseko Ramen Fūka, a ramen shop with a legendary reputation in town—its place in Niseko is as solid as Mt. Yotei itself! The secret? Its original potato broth, made from locally grown Kutchan potatoes. When the ramen arrives, instead of the usual soup, you’ll see a bowl topped with a thick layer of creamy white potato purée. If it wasn’t so famous, I would’ve thought they brought the wrong dish to the wrong table! 😅
Credit for such authentic flavor goes to the bearded Japanese chef—grab a counter seat and watch him in action! Also, the Japanese staff here are super cute… but honestly, the main reason to keep coming back is the ramen. It’s just that good. 🍜
Besides the signature ramen (with miso, spicy, and more), they also have various curry rice, rice bowls, and classic Japanese dishes 🥟🥘
The shop is packed every day during meal times—no reservations, only sign-in on arrival. It’s Japanese craftsmanship at its best. The food is definitely worth the wait, but for fellow foodies: go early! I recommend arriving for lunch at 12 or dinner at 6, right when they open, or you’ll likely wait an hour ⏰
