Super Fast & Easy: 5 Steps to Rent Ski Gear in Niseko Hirafu

When skiing in Niseko, renting equipment can be a real headache—you need to consider your accommodation, ski area, and transportation. If you’re taking lessons at Niseko Hirafu, we strongly recommend renting your gear at the Hirafu .Base rental shop. Gear is an essential part of your lesson, and if you have any questions, you can always ask your instructor right at the rental shop. Wearing your gear properly is the first step to skiing well!

Why choose .Base for rental?

  1. Before your lesson, your instructor can help check your equipment—if your boots don’t fit or your skis are the wrong length, you can swap them on the spot. You can also leave your regular shoes at the shop for storage.
  2. During your lesson, if your gear has any issues (like breaking or malfunctioning), you can quickly return to swap it for new gear.
  3. After your lesson, you can leave your equipment at the rental shop overnight—your boots will even be dried for you! No need to lug heavy gear back to your hotel.

We highly recommend reserving your gear at least three days in advance—the website does not accept bookings within three days of use. When you arrive at the rental shop before your lesson, you won’t waste time filling in personal information—your reserved gear will be ready for you. Your precious ski time shouldn’t be wasted waiting in line!

Start by going to the rental reservation page and find “Rental Pre-application”.
